MA Degree Tuition
At its May 19, 2005 monthly meeting, the University of Hawai'i Board of Regents (BOR) approved a tuition schedule proposal presented by the UH administration to begin Fall 2006 and run through Spring 2012. The tuition initiative takes UH Manoa tuition to the projected national averages of like institutions by 2011-2012, and tuition for the other nine campuses to projected WICHE (Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education) averages by that time.

Notes:
- All calculations assume student begins in fall semester.
- Half-Resident means student pays non-resident for first year and becomes resident for second year.
- **This assumes that students in Chinese and Korean studies come in with 3 years of language, and that students in Japanese Studies have 4 years of language. If they don't then they will have to pay more. For example: if a students has 2 years of Chinese or Korean, add the cost for 6 more hours. If a student has 2 years of Japanese, add the cost for 12 more hours.
- * If you start in this year, 2 years of tuition will cost you this much. (subject to Note 3 above)
